Stash Report / Retreat Day 2

The retreat this weekend is in a lovely location, right on the river.  The rooms look out on the river, as does the sewing room.  And the food is fabulous.

Everyone worked hard today.  This morning I started on my second retreat quilt.  This one is the colour challenge for November, and I decided to try out my new circle ruler today.  This went together amazingly quickly, and the ruler made perfect circles and frames which were easy to stitch together.

We had a class, learning miter techniques and prarie points.  The mitering is done, and turned into a quiltie (rather than the table runner the design called for).  The prarie points will have to wait until I'm ready to do the binding on this one.

Stash report for tis week (all used at the retreat):

2 yards - twisted log cabin
1 yard - pink quilt
3 yards - circle quilt
1 1/2 yards - bear paws

Total out at retreat 7 1/2 yards
For the year, 190 3/4 yards out.  Drop by Judy's blog to see how everyone else is doing.

  1. Surprised you got any sewing done with that beautiful view. I would have spent all my time sitting on the deck. Your circle quilt is really neat, great colors.
    Thanks for sharing.

  2. Great week on the stash busting front. Love your circle quilt! Enjoy the rest of your retreat.

  3. What a great place for a retreat. I agree with Dee Dee -- such a pretty setting would have kept me outside or walking around the lake instead of sewing!! I really like your circles. Very modern looking too.

  4. Love your view from your sewing space at the retreat. Your projects look fun! I'm not crazy about prarie points especially in a binding. Don't get me wrong I love the look... Anxious to see how you end up with yours. Sandi

  5. Beautiful view, glad you enjoyed the weekend and got so much done. Love the circles.

  6. Wow, you are doing a great job reducing your stash. I am just breaking even this year!
