I've been catching up on a mystery quilt this week, and I finally have the center done. Just borders left to go. I was hoping to skip the pieced borders, and use the print shown here. It's from the same fabric line as most of the fabric in the quilt. But looking at it on the wall, it's just too heavy for this quilt, so I guess it's back to plan A, and I have a few border sections to put together.
Check out Judy's Design Wall Monday. I'm a day late to the party, but jumping on board anyway :)

Stash Report
At first I thought I had nothing to report for my stash report today. And then I realized that I've been busily quilting away on the new Bernina longarm, and I have used 3 backings. Plus, I now have 7 small quilts that need binding - I think I know what's up this week :)
Out this week - 7 yards for backings. And nothing in.
Stash totals for the year:
91 yards in
167 1/4 yards out
Total: 76 1/4 yards out
Drop by Judy's blog to see more stash reports.

Design Wall Monday
I have a couple of projects coming off my design wall today. I finished up my Modern Rainbow and its backing. I decided to try adding an extra layer of white muslin, to see if that reduces the shadowing enough for me. Otherwise, this will be 2 quilts, each with a white muslin backing :)
I also finished a couple of baby quilts. These panels were picked up at a guild meeting last year, and I finally figured out what to do with them. They'll be a donation to Victoria's Quilts, I think.
Onward from here, I think it's time to focus on some long arm work so I don't plan to start any new projects for a while. I do have a few block of the month projects to catch up on, and hopefully that will keep my sewing urge under control until I get ahead of some of the tops I have finished.
Drop by Judy's Design Wall Monday for more inspiration.

Progress
Here's a full view of the (intended) back of the quilt.
In the meantime, I consoled myself with some new pillowcases. I've had this fabric pulled for months, and finally cut and put together my pillow cases (complete with french seams) last night.
The white is a bit more 'blah' than I was hoping for, but I have 2 more cut out with more interesting colour arrangements, so they'll just have to live on top of these 2.
I'm linking up over at WIPs be Gone today.

I'm Back!
Did you miss me? I was without a computer for the past week, and it was rough. But all is well now, the computer is certified virus free, and life can return to it's regularly scheduled blogging :)
I've been working on my Modern Rainbow quilt this week, and it's almost done. Right now, it's about 30 x 60 (once I finish trimming) - kind of an odd size, so I think I'll add borders down each side to make it a bit wider. This quilt was fun, and I know a few things I would definitely do differently if I make it again.
Now I just have to decide what to do with all the scraps! I cut about 6" of each of 18 fabrics - and then the quilt only used half or less of each of those strips by the time it was trimmed. So I have a whole rainbow of scraps on my table now. Maybe a backing, maybe a new quilt. I'll have to play with them for a while and come up with a plan.

350 blocks
I also started working on a baby quilt, using 2 panels and some yardage that I picked up at a guild auction last year. That's now been put aside temporarily, in favour of the rainbow quilt, but blocks count for this month.
April:
30 blocks for one-block wonder
40 blocks for grey/yellow triangles
12 blocks for disappearing hour glass
May:
36 blocks for giant scrappy swoon
16 blocks for 3rd turquoise & brown quilt
12 blocks for mini irish chain
12 blocks for 9-patch/snowball quilt
4 blocks for baby quilt
5 blocks for modern guild challenge
January - 74
February - 69
March - 109
April - 95
May - 85
Total: 432 blocks so far this year.
Looks like I've already exceeded the yearly goal, so I'll just continue along and see just how many blocks I end up making this year.

Design Wall Monday, June 1
In the meantime, I've finished this top. Now to figure out how to quilt it.
I pulled 3 small tops from my quilting pile yesterday, sewed all their backings together, and loaded them up on the new longarm. Managed to get one and a half of them quilted, before I ran out of steam and had to remove the whole shebang. Hopefully I'll be able to get those back on next weekend and finish them up. That will be a nice decrease in my "to be quilted" pile, even if they are little ones.
Drop by Judy's blog to see what everyone else has on their design walls today.
