My design wall today is the floor at quilt retreat. I am almost done the pieces for the border on my swoon quilt, and now I need to pick the colour a narrow border to run on both sides of that. Here are some of the options I'm considering.
First, here's the whole quilt - a rainbow of swoon blocks.
Then the border options - light purple, rainbow (which matches the center of each square), or dark blue. I could also use either of the greens.
What do you think?
i like the rainbow fabric, but it seems too light to create a border - it blends in with the white. I think the first option looks great - not too dark but enough to create a dividing line.
ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous Krista! I really like the rainbow fabric...it connects everything together and doesn't draw your eye, which lets the wonderfully pieced border shine!
ReplyDeleteWow! a rainbow of swoons!! I like the first option, it's dark enough to hold everything in but not too overpowering. LOVE the border :)
ReplyDeletei, too, like the rainbow fabric...it's low key enuf to keep the blocks the focus of the quilt.
ReplyDeletehappy stitching!
Another vote for the rainbow fabric. Your blocks and the pieced green border really shine off of it! Congrats on your beautiful Swoons.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt!! I love the border you have shown us.
ReplyDeleteI like the blue. Such a pretty shade of blue too. Your pieced border is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThat is an amazing pieced border! It looks great with the quilt. I'm partial to the blue ... it just seems to provide a little pop.
ReplyDeletelove the border
