It's been a busy couple of weeks for me - I've been out almost every evening for the past 2 weeks, plus spending all last weekend at Skate Canada, and teaching a quilting class this past Saturday. Sunday was *my* day. No commitments, nothing to leave the house for. Just a day all to myself. Sewing time!!!!!
I loaded up a new customer quilt this morning, and got started on it. A bit of custom quilting on this one, so it's going to take a bit more time. I had some fun designing a couple of motifs for it (the quilter specifically requested acorns in the setting triangles, so I'm doing my best to oblige). Then I spent a few hours quilting. And when I needed a break, I headed upstairs to work on some piecing.
I really need a new project - something simple but fun, that I can use some of my fabric "collections" for. I have about 5-6 piles of fabric that I bought as a set, hoping to make a quilt from them. I'd like to dig into one of them, but I'm still looking for that perfect pattern or inspiration.
So, in the meantime, I made some more churn dash blocks for Judy's scrap challenge. Would be nice to meet her deadline and be ready to assemble a quilt by Jan 25.
Check out more design walls over on Judys' blog.
It's nice to have something to work on when you are waiting for inspiration for your fabric collections. Love the colors in your scrap challenge blocks.
ReplyDeleteoh love what you're doing with the scrap challenge block. I'm the same way, need to have something challenging and something easy for those times I want / need a break from challenging!
