Design Wall Monday

My design wall is in fact empty today.  Earlier this weekend, it looked like this.  But I took the quilt down to see if I could find more of the bright red, to re-do the borders.

I like the quilt, but the pieced border seems a bit out of place to me.  No success on finding fabric, but the ladies at the quilt shop all loved it as is.  So, maybe it will stay.  It has some time to stew - the current project is quilting the indigo quilt.  All done but the borders, so it's moving right along.

I want to finish quilting 2 quilts before I pull out my next piecing project.  Think I'll stand firm?

  3. I like your borders. I think they echo the centers of the blocks and so they look like they belong.

  4. Oh I really like the border, I think it draws your eye into the center of the quilt - which really is a stunning center :)
