Finally, my design wall has something new on it! I have most of the blocks for my Carpenter's Star put together, and ready to assemble. This is a nice quick project - a good change from quilting my watercolour star, and working on the borders for my son's quilt.
Speaking of which, I did get 2 borders done today. There are 5 more in the plan - but first I have to wait for the background fabric to arrive. I don't want to start the rest of the borders until I make sure I have enough fabric and am not going to have to redesign them again. So, at this point I'm putting this quilt (and every scrap of fabric I have left for it) away until a package arrives in my mail box.
Check out Judy's blog for more design walls today.
The water color quilt is fab, and I would wait until all fabric required is in hand. I hate redesigning borders. I love your version of the carpenter star!! I am so making this. I found Judy's pattern...
ReplyDeleteOh my! Storm at Sea! WOW!!!
ReplyDeleteI love this quilt. You did a fantastic job with the shading. Can't wait to see the finished quilt. Be sure to show us your progress.
ReplyDeleteIt is always fun to have something easy to work on in between a "heavy" project. Your carpenter's star looks like a nice break!

Your Carpenter's Star looks great. I have designed and redesigned mine to death but the one I did this morning is going to have to be the one I make. The fabric is waiting for me in the studio and it it at the top of my "to do" list for when I get back in there on Wednesday. I will be ready on June 1.
ReplyDeleteI like the colors of your Carpenters star!! Great quilt!!
ReplyDeleteYour Carpenter's star looks really great--nice colors and good shading effect. The water color quilt is really striking! Hope all your plans work out for the borders to come.
ReplyDeleteKrista, Both of your projects look great. Hope your "spider" moves out soon. Can't wait to see what you have planned for your five borders. Sounds like you are making a big quilt. Sandi
ReplyDeleteI love how you have projects in every stage of the process!
ReplyDeleteCarpenter Star is one of my favorite patterns. I love the dark green you've used in yours. The Watercolor Stars is looking great. Don't you hate having to wait on fabric to finish something when you are on a roll?
