I'm still fighting with my Orca Bay quilt. I think this is the one that is going to push me over into long-arm ownership, but in the meantime, I am determined to finish this one. Just the borders left to go, and at least I know what I am going to do with them.
I spent an hour this afternoon chatting with the owner of the local store that distributes the Tin Lizzie. I think I am almost talked into one of those. There don't seem to be any other local dealers for other machines (which makes service and support a challenge). And so far, everything I've read about the Tin Lizzie has been good. Anyone want to take bets on how long I hold out? A hint - I am not a patient person. :) And I have 6 quilts waiting to be quilted.
Other than working on this quilt, my time is being spent knitting. I joined Camp Loopy this year, and my yarn arrived on Monday - just 1 day late for the start of camp. I cast on right away, and am now about 1/3 done the project, so it looks like the late start is not going to hurt me at all.

There is a yahoogroup for this machine. You might check it out.
ReplyDeleteI'm not patient either. I'll be anxious to hear how you make out! ;^)
ReplyDeleteThe Tin Lizzie is one of the machines I dreamed about when I modified my studio to have the space for a long arm. Life intervened and I had and have to fix a lot of stuff in my house so I have more time to lurk and decide on what machine to get....What are you quilting with now? I am very happy with a tabletop Juki Q.
